Landscape is one of the mainstays of oil painting. Min believes that the most important aspect of landscape painting is its ability to invoke a fresh and deep sense of atmosphere. Trained under a disciplined system that drew its basics from Russian landscape masters such as Levitan and Levin, Min has never ceased his search into soulful and stunning palettes to represent his subjects.
From the brightest contrasts to the most subtle nuances, from bold bristle impasto to soft fine sables, Min paints with fluidity and gesture. Min's landscapes have been of late the Parisian countryside, Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Long Beach, Laguna Beach, and Yosemite National Park.
